Brief Background
The faculty of foundation was established in 2012 to cover the basic needs of Science students. The faculty prepares the science students and consists of two semesters. It focuses mainly on the behavioral change that enables the new enrolled students to adapt the University environment and to instrument the science subjects academically. The faculty provides numerous inductions concerning the courses and any other aspects during their learning periods at the University.
Vision
The vision of the foundation is to be the most valuable education center that improves the knowledge and the responsibility of the Science students.
Mission
To provide access to higher education and conduct quality professional training for the delivery of demand driven teaching/learning services with special emphasis on innovation and research directed towards community transformation and conservation of biodiversity.
Student current situation
The faculty of Science foundation students’ number is now 130 students and they normally take one year preparatory, which is divided into two semesters; semester one and semester two. After they complete this preparatory year, the passed students are transferred to the appropriate faculties such as the faculty of Health Science, Laboratory and Nursing/Midwifery departments.
Lectures and Administration
The faculty has more about 18 qualified lecturers including Master and Bachelor degrees. Nine of these lectures have Master degrees while the other nine lectures are still Bachelor degrees. The faculty has two administration staffs including the Dean and the assistance.
