THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
Background
The Department of Environmental Science was established in 2020 with the purpose of producing professional graduates with a strong foundation in environmental science and application to be suitable for vital positions in academia, industry, government, and non-governmental institutions as skilled manpower. The environmental science program is designed around three key themes: understanding environmental processes and systems; investigating change and impacts; and enabling their prediction and mitigation. Students gain expertise in desertification, biodiversity, climate change, pollution, waste management, natural resource conservation, environmental policy and economics, environmental conservation, etc.
OUR PROGRAMS
- However, in summary, the activities proceeded as follows:
- Educational Programs: Teaching programs, workshops, and seminars were organized to enhance students’ knowledge and skills.
- Fieldwork and Practical Training: Students participated in hands-on experiences, gaining practical insights through field visits and environmental practices.
- Community Outreach: The department of environmental science conducted outreach programs, promoting sustainable environments and environmental awareness in surrounding communities.

Program objectives
- To create and disseminate knowledge to the students about environmental problems on a local, regional, and global scale.
- To provide practical training on modern instruments and analytical techniques for environmental analyses.
- To sensitize students towards environmental concerns, issues,issues and impacts of climate change and related mitigation strategies
- To encourage the students to apply their knowledge for efficient environmental decision-making and sustainable development.
- To prepare students for successful careers in environmental departments, research institutes,industries, consulting, and NGOs.

- The B.Sc. degree in Environmental Science is a four-year program designed to provide a fundamental education in the science of the environment.
