The Faculty of Engineering and Technology organized an educational field trip for its students to the coastal city of Berbera. The purpose of this trip was to provide students with practical knowledge and hands-on experience related to the courses they study at the university—following a “see and touch” learning approach.
During the trip, students visited various companies and ongoing projects in the city. They directly observed modern construction methods, project management practices, and how large companies operate. The students gained valuable insights and knowledge in areas such as managing large-scale engineering projects, fast-track high-rise construction techniques, and many other practical skills.
The University of Burao emphasizes hands-on training to complement theoretical learning. This approach ensures that students do not enter the job market without experience, but instead graduate with both knowledge and practical skills.
Finally, the University of Burao extends its sincere appreciation to the administration of Berbera, especially the Secretary of the Berbera Municipality, Mr. Mohamed Suleiman, for the warm welcome extended to the students. We also thank Mr. Dawlad Mohamed Farah for his significant contribution, as well as everyone who participated in making this trip successful.
